Antique Wicker Cooling Coffin




Auction house description:
Victorian antique wicker cooling coffin (rubber corpse included). A cooling coffin was kept at the most prestigious homes to keep body contained and aireated until such time as a doctor could arrive to pronounce the person dead. The wicker would allow air circulation in case the person was not reliably dead. Stenciled underneath "Manufactured by Durfee Embalming Fluid Co. Grand Rapids, Mich."

Folk Art Stone Lion





Sold at Garth's for $2,900.00 (w/o premium).

Auction Description:
American, 19th century. Seated lion with unusual features. Restoration. 30"h. 54"w. 17"d. Condition Report: Found in Muskingum County. Restoration is fairly recent with concrete patch. Rebuilt lips, ears and front leg. Surface weathered from the elements.

Primitive Automaton Figure

Circa 1920-1930's primitive automaton figure. Unknown as to it's original purpose. A slow moving electric motor in the hollow body moves the right arm back and forth.
