Victorian antique wicker cooling coffin (rubber corpse included). A cooling coffin was kept at the most prestigious homes to keep body contained and aireated until such time as a doctor could arrive to pronounce the person dead. The wicker would allow air circulation in case the person was not reliably dead. Stenciled underneath "Manufactured by Durfee Embalming Fluid Co. Grand Rapids, Mich."
