The postcard depicts the contents of the stomach of a man named Frank Durga. In 1908, Durga underwent surgery to remove the items. The drive to eat non-food items is now known as pica. The postcard includes a brief biography of Durga and a full listing of the articles removed from his stomach (as pictured).
