April 8 2011. A pair of near mint condition Converse Skoots were just sold by Travis Joles, (owner of eBay store Mintvintagetoys) to the Converse Archives collection for $2,800. The link enclosing the sale price, and pictures of these extremely rare shoes can be seen here: http://cgi.ebay.com/EXTRMELY-RARE-NM-VINTAGE-WWII-CONVERSE-SKOOTS-SIZE-10-/120705202399?pt=US_Mens_Vintage_Shoes&hash=item1c1a9738df#ht_7722wt_1026
You should do a write up on those. It would be nice to see someone bring back the history of these. A robot site thanked him for his help with a rare Maxx Steele that he sold on eBay a couple years back, so I bet he wouldn't mind lending some info from the sale, as well as photos for your blog. Any vintage worn shoe that sells for $3,000 dollars needs a write up. Especially sice it just so happens to be a be a pair of Converse Skoots. Your blog really brought attention, and spiked curiosity of this shoe, and this would be a very nice follow up to all the collectors out there wondering about it.
