RHODODENDRON ROOT STAND TABLE, a tour-de-force of root carving and
ingenious design with two fixed shelves, two drawers, and slightly
splayed legs supporting an exuberant display of root carvings including
birds, turtles, snakes, a stag, and human figures. Over 20 carved
figures total. Poplar and other secondary woods. Excellent old, possibly
original, surface with warm color and expected wear. Circa 1920-1930.
