Thanks for the tip. That postcard is pretty cool. I believe my friend Jim Linderman did a post on that card a long time ago. It must have been a manufactured card since there seems to have been multiples of it made. It's a great record of folk art in it's original context, which I just love.
Yes, Indeed. I still own mine, and it was printed in my recent book IN SITU-AMERICAN FOLK ART IN PLACE (available from Blurb.com. Real Photo postcards were printed in small quantities, but for this businessman, even with a shop as primitive, likely had several hundred made up. I detected the history of the nantucket whirigig in my post on DULL TOOL DIM BULB using my copy of the photo. blog...and the book would be of interest to all who follow your blog. Jim Linderman
